In many cases, an injury is a great reason to come in. Your Runner Evaluation helps us understand what’s going on, what you can safely continue doing, and what may need to change so you can keep moving toward your goals.
If we determine that you need a different type of care first, we'll let you know and help point you in the right direction.
Not necessarily. Our goal isn’t to take you out of running if we don’t have to.
We’ll look at your symptoms, movement, strength, mobility, and current training demands to determine what your body can handle right now. From there, we can make adjustments and build a plan designed to keep you moving forward while increasing your capacity to run.
Some soreness can be a normal part of training, especially when mileage or intensity increases. But pain that keeps returning, gets worse as you run, changes the way you move, or starts limiting your training may be worth having evaluated.
A Runner Evaluation can help you better understand what may be contributing to the problem and what your next step should be.
Rest may calm things down, but it doesn't always address why the problem keeps returning when you start training again.
Instead of only looking at where it hurts, we assess your running movement, strength, mobility, training history, and the demands you're placing on your body. The goal is to identify areas that may need attention and create a plan to build your capacity for running again.
There isn't one mileage formula that works for every runner. How quickly you build depends on your current capacity, training history, symptoms, goals, and how your body responds as training increases.
We'll use what we find during your Runner Evaluation to help create a personalized plan for progressing your training and building the strength and capacity needed for the demands ahead.
This evaluation is built around the demands of running.
We don't just look at where it hurts. We look at your training history, running movement, strength, mobility, previous injuries, and goals to understand the bigger picture.
You'll leave with a better understanding of what may be contributing to the problem and a clear, personalized plan for moving forward.
Your Runner Evaluation is a one-on-one assessment focused on understanding what's going on and helping you determine the best path forward.
We'll review your training and injury history, assess runner-specific strength and mobility, and use treadmill analysis to see how your body moves while running.
Then we'll explain what we found and give you a personalized plan based on your goals and training demands—whether you decide to continue working with us or not.
